Oh the horror!

I downloaded my 225 item stash from Ravelry, then separated out the fingering weight. Just in fingering I have enough for 100 pairs of socks. I have a bunch of yarn I bought for socks in other weights. How did I get here?

I am participating in the Ravelry! Sock Down, so I my plan is to knit one pair of socks per month according to the criteria for that month, using whatever sock yarn in my stash that will match the pattern best. This month it is Cookie A and I cast on for Hedera's on January 2. I'm at the heel flap on Hedera #1. Since I have not finished my December socks yet, these may not be done until February 29, the due date.

I have lots of baby socks to knit for a niece's baby-to-be. Will these count? I also have a bunch of good size remnants.

If I get ahead, I plan to use the nifty random number generator design and cast on an appropriate pattern.

Wish me luck! I will need it ...

Wow, sounds like you'll be knitting socks for quite a while. I am also in Sock Down and knitting Monkey.
I also am planning on pairing down the stash with trades and placing some up for sale.
I only have enough stash for about 30 socks, still, thats too much for me.

I think I'm going to start on the sock down too, next month. Looks like fun!

There were never any stipulations on the kinds of socks you made, just that you were doing it from stash yarn. So knit away for those babies!!

I'm not doing sockdown for january but will be doing it from time to time. I only participate when its something I think I'll enjoy or that will challenge me.

Don't forget about other projects in fingering weight. Maybe a Baby Surprise Jacket, or one of those chevron scarves! :)

That yarn looks very silky - what is it? Very neat knitting!
