Finished June socks

Here are my finished socks for June, Roundabouts for mother. I bought her this yarn for her birthday and she told me I had to make her socks :) So, here they are, all ready for her when she returns from Germany on Monday.
July socks have been cast on....Spring Forward from the new Knitty. LOVE THEM!

Simply Cables in June

Well, I can hardly believe it, but I am ahead of schedule for a change. We shall see whether Blogger is more cooperative today. The pattern is called Simply Cables, by Anni Design from Sockamania. The cables were tough going at first, but by the time I started the second sock, I felt much more competent with them. I love the classic elegance of this design and will definitely be doing it again. The socks were knit with Scheepjes Invicta Extra on size 0 circulars. I used a 5" bamboo double pointed needle to work the cables. The yarn really is not as vibrant an orange as the photo would suggest; it is more of a pumpkin color. Anyhow, thanks to Anni for such a lovely design. See you next month!

cheating June Socks

Ok so these socks are my June socks. I generally wanted to not count socks unless I cast on and off during the month. But with life and other projects and what not these are the only socks that will get finished in June.

Pattern: Feather & Fan Socks by Judy Sumner
Yarn: Fleece Artist Merino Sock 2/6 color: pinata
needles:2.0mm (us 0)
started: May 29
finished June 17

hopefully no more cheating.

~ June Socks ~

Hello everyone ~ such lovely socks you'll been making. ;) These aren't from stash but they were made for a friend who purchased the yarn. I'm ashame to say it but these socks were began in March and I just finished them. Well, the short story ~ I began a new job right after casting on and life has been a rollercoaster ride every since. I'm just glad they are done and can't wait to see them in her clear chucks ~ aren't they purty?!
Pattern ~ stitch-n-snitch Not Pedestrain Peds
Yarn ~ Drops Fabel in 153
Needles ~ Knit Picks #3 circs

Plain Old Socks for June

For just plain old stockinette socks, these sure did take me awhile to finish. They were supposed to be my MAY socks!

Now, I admit there were two weeks when I was sick and didn't pick up the needles much, but the socks contributed to the issue too. I had the hardest time getting the gusset on sock #2 to look nice.

But, now they are done and waiting for cooler weather (uh, maybe in December?????) to come along so they can be on the feet.

Happy knitting.

Halfway There

One down, one to go. Yarn is Claudia's Hand Paint sock yarn in "Walk in The Woods" and the pattern is Tidal Wave

The Next Socks

Hi folks!
I have started my next sock project. I dug in the stash and found a skein of Opal Petticoat. I've had this one for a couple years. Time for it to be socks.

I'm doing a simple sock pattern. Something 'brainless' so I can work on it without thinking. I've settled on a 4 by 2 garter rib. I took this with me for WWKIP day yesterday. I've got more done than this on it, but this is where I was when I took the photo. I love how it's working up.

Take care,
Linda Jo

Purple Baby Socks

Made from some leftovers in my stash.

Pattern: Better-Than-Booties Baby Socks by Ann Budd.

Fingering weight sock yarn from Wild Meadows Yarns

Size 2 Addi Turbo circulars.

Comments and Changes:
They came out a little larger than expected, but that’s cos I used size 2 needles rather than size 0. The method for the short rowed heel is very interesting. I like how it turns out.

I did some changes to the pattern. First of all, I put cables over the whole instep, rather than just two on the sides. Second, I didn’t like the way the pattern does the toes, so I just did a regular traditional sock toe.

Have a good day.

May socks unfinished..

Didn't manage to finish my Pom Pom socks in May due to an operation on my arm two weeks ago for carpal tunnel / cubital tunnel. See my bandaged arm here!
Unfortunately I won't be able to knit for a few weeks yet. What's more, they're going to operate on my right arm soon too, so more time out of knitting action. Sob!
I do hope to catch up on my knitting once I can though.
In the meantime I'll be browsing books and patterns and looking at all your great FO's!

June socks

Waterfall by Babs Austermann (Woolgirl sock club 2007)
Posh Yarn Emily, color Loot
2.75mm DPNs

A stash pattern and stash yarn :) Pattern was originally intended to go with Miss Babs sportweight yarn, but lace pattern was lost in variegated yarn. It looks much nicer in solid.

~ May Socks ~

Here are my socks from stash:

Pattern ~ Detonator, Sock Wars 3
Yarn ~ Berroco Sox
Needles ~ Knit Picks #3
Ravelry ~ RockstarMom

More Baby Socks

Three more pairs of baby socks for May. The new ones are #1 and #3 in the top row and either #1 or #2 in the second row. In my haste to get them mailed, I forgot to take a separate photo of the new pairs. Again, these are from remnants from making my own socks. I would never have guessed I could get so many little pairs out of left overs, 17 pairs altogether so far, and I STILL have yarn left over! I used Fleegle's wonderful toe up gusseted heel pattern, dramatically downsized for infants. It can be found in her November 2006 archives at

I have really enjoyed seeing everyone's beautiful socks.
