Little boy socks

Here are my January socks. I bought the yarn because Natalie from The Yarn Yard mentioned she originally planned to call the yarn "A Really Big Spider in the Rainforest". It was sold as a Rainforest, but original name has always had an appeal for me. This is a true little boy yarn!
The socks belong now to a little boy, who is three years old today. He is a lover of handknits, especially woolen socks, so I was happy to finish these in time.

The socks are size 27 (European sizes). I made them little too big so he can use them for a while. I used 2.75mm DPNs and cast on 38 stitches. The yarn was sock yarn (75% wool, 25% polyamide) from The Yarn Yard. I have several skeins on my stash and it's one of my favorites. It's very soft but wears well.

I haven't even thought about making socks for my nieces and nephews because of the growing thing and the wear and tear thing. Great socks!!
