Second pair. Hey, a new record.

For me, at least. I've never done two pairs in one month before. At least I don't think so. Okay, they're kid-sized. They're still socks. Behold:

A simple 56-stitch stockinette sock, sized for a four-year old. The main yarn used is Steinbach Wolle's Sockenwolle, in a nice tweedy brown. Since I only had one ball and didn't want to run short, I did heels and toes in some leftover Brown Sheep Naturespun sport. It's different enough to be noticeable without being too in-your-face, I think. He'll like them just fine, I hope, and get some wear out of them before hitting another growth spurt! The Sockenwolle is decent yarn. I like tweedy yarns (I think I'm the only fan of say, Wildfoote on the planet), but I do wish the acrylic content wasn't so high. Just my personal preference. Feet need to breathe.

March's yarn of choice will be Apple Laine's Apple Pie in "Arizona." Mom chose a stitch pattern from More Sensational Knitted Socks for her pair. Meanwhile, I'm still working on my brother's camo socks (Yarn Wench) and my Kaylee socks (All Things Heather).

Yes, they count as socks, no matter the size. I too like tweedy socks, and these really caught my eye.
