(Pronounced "ardwhaz")--it means "slate" or "slate roof" in French. I chose the name because the combination of the stitch pattern and colorway reminded me of slate roofs. I created this model for my DMIL using the following materials and methods:
- 1 ball Austerman Step w/ aloe vera and jojoba oil (barely enough left for a pair of baby booties);
- US#0 and #1 Susan Bates metal DPN;
- unnamed stitch from an old French stitch book my Mom brought me last year;
- toe-up, with magic cast-on;
- reinforced heel;
- my own sock calculator.
When I grow up, I will get some of those handy sock blockers I keep seeing in your pics :)
