New month, new pair

February being the month of my birthday, I decided it is only fair that I choose the yarn instead of picking it at random. This was not an easy choice, mind you; my stash may not be impressive in size, but each piece speaks to me in its own way. In the end, I opted for the incredible Austermann Step because I can't get over the idea that it is infused with aloe vera and jojoba oil.
The pair will be for my MIL. She suffers from type-2 diabetes and needs softness on her feet. I haven't decided on the model yet.

Have you ever used austerman? I haven't but it sounds excellent and soft! Aloe is the best!

It is my very first time with that yarn. I just finished a swatch, and oh my! It is incredibly soft and smooth, and leaves my fingers all conditioned. I highly recommend it if you can find it. I am using Susan Bates metal DPN #1 and the stitches slide perfectly. The needles are long enough that I don't have to worry about them dropping, though.
