Zombie socks for March

Here are my March socks. This was the kickoff pattern for Sock Madness 2.

The yarn is Scheepjes Invicta Extra in soft green. The socks were knit on 2.25mm Knit Picks Options fixed circulars.

March Socks in the Nick of Time

My March socks are done and it's officially still March, so I'm feeling quite good about this. They were for a sock swap pal and the colors are for the Hufflepuff house in the Harry Potter books.

The yarn is Faery Fibers superwash merino in a colorway called "Cedric." The pattern is just a basic top-down ribbed sock. I continued the ribbing down the heel instead of doing a standard heel flap.

I had enough left over from these large women's socks that I also made some toddler socks for a friend. These are just basic top-down ribbed socks with a short-row heel.

I think I like the color repeats (variegated, rather than striping) better in the smaller socks than the bigger ones.

The skein was so generously sized that I was also able to make two mini socks!

I think I'm switching to solid yarn next month.

Tammy's February & March Socks

I was so ambitious in February that I started 2 pairs of socks. Unfortunately, it took me until last week to finish them both.

March Madness

I failed to complete my socks in February. I present my efforts for March, Pomatomus using Cherry Tree Hill in the Dusk colourway, knit on size 2 DPN's. I currently have two more on the needles.
There is Nutkin and the Tulip Socks that I have yet to complete. Nutkin is currently the socks that I am working on the most. I hope that I will have two pair to show off in April.
As consolation, I have here the Wee Tiny Sock form Yarn Miracles Wee Tiny Sock Swap. Very fun. Unfortunately its too late, sign ups are closed for this year. She had over 270 participants. Put this fun swap on your calenders for next year. My sock is going out to the other coast tomorrow!

Pink Jaywalkers Done

Finished my Pink Jaywalkers just in time for March.




Pattern: Jaywalker by Grumperina

Yarn: Fearless Fibers 100% Classic Merino sock yarn in Peppermint colorway.

Needles: Size 2 Addi Turbo Lace Circulars.

Comments: Use a size 2 needle instead of a size one. The fit is much better. I LOVE this pattern. It was a lot of fun.

Now on to Pomatomus for April. I'm going to be using Pagewood Farms Yukon sock yarn, which I've not used before. I've been wanting to try a sock yarn with bamboo in it, though, and this stuff has that-and, of course, it's in shades of purple, the color name being Prism. It's 70% Superwash Merino, 20% Bamboo, and 10% Nylon. It's a 4oz skein with 450 yards.

March socks finished

Finished these pair of burgundy marble Helter Skelter socks last night. A nice spiral patterned tube socks, from the pattern in Simply Knitting magazine.

Photo is not too good, but they're a lovely stretch pair, warm and cuddly for winter.A gift for a friend this coming Xmas.

Have decided to make a pair of Brigid socks next month.
