Pomatomus Done

I have finally finished my Pomatomus socks. I love them. No, I LOVE them. Prettiest socks I've ever made. Almost the most perfectly knit socks I've ever made. I guess the 2 month wait was worth it.

Pattern: Pomatomus from Knitty.

Yarn:
Pagewood Farms Yukon sock yarn in Prism colorway.

Needles: Size 2 Addi Turbo Lace Circular.

Comments: I LOVE this pattern!

Next yarn pulled from the stash is this:

Some Regia I won in a contest on Barbara Bretton's blog. She's a well known author who also knits. I'm going to knit some plain Jane socks with this cos I need a break from the more complicated stuff I've been making the last few months.

Before I start these, though, I'm going to make some baby socks in leftover purple sock yarn. I joined a little KAL on Ravelry being held by the We Love the Osmonds group. We're making purple baby socks for charity.

Happy knitting!

Where Did April Go?

It looks as thought I skipped the entire month of April, not to mention most of May. There has been some knitting going on. I finished the Nutkin sock using Cherry Tree Hill in a beautiful autumnal colorway.
In addition to Nutkin, I've been beavering away on the Tulip Socks, a KnitPicks pattern using Palette.
But wait, there's more. I also have Forget Me Not on the needles using Panda Cotton in the Blueberry and Grape colorway. I hope to add an additioanl may post chronicling at least one finish.
Happy Memorial Day everyone!

May Socks Are Done!

Done, and not a moment too soon. For some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to buy sock yarn with a hint of glitter in it. These have a thread of metallic running through them, giving the glitter effect. They have been in the stash for some time now.
Yarn- Fortissima Socka Colori: Disco
Pattern- Basic sock, by Cat Bordhi
Knit on- #2 circulars
Now, on to a more interesting pattern (and less glittery yarn) for June.

rebel may socks

Finish my May Socks.

Pattern: k3p1 ribbing, slip st heel flap, with a wedge toe
Yarn: YarnPirate Merino sock color: rebel
needles:2.0mm (us 0)
started: May 12
finished May 19
notes: really liked the yarn. very squishy and soft. we found several knots when winding it. each sock had its own knot, and if memory serves there is at least 1 more in what's leftover. Speaking of leftovers I had 30.4g leftover.

Finished May Socks

Here are my finished Garter Heel Socks. I cannot figure out how to post them on Ravelry...did the process change??
Off to see what is up for June!!

April Embossed Leaves

These are my late April socks from stash. They were begun on holiday and then abandoned in favour of other projects and the spring garden - tsk!

Embossed Leaves by Mona Schmidt from "Favorite Socks", these are knitted using Cherry Tree Hill superwash merino which came to me "ready-wound" in a swap package, so I had no idea how it would knit up.

The stitch pattern is drowned by the spiralling stripes of purple / sapphire and turquoise / green, but my daughter chose the match and she likes them, so that's what matters - a satisfied customer!

Moving on to May socks now - thinking of trying toe-ups for the first time - gulp!

Castle Grounds for May

Here are my May socks. I used Piece of Beauty merino sock yarn (discontinued). Color is called Castle Grounds. The purples are Scottish moors and greens moss on castle walls.

Mama Bear in May

Hello, fellow sock knitters!

The rainy weather helped this pair get finished much faster than I had anticipated. "Mama Bear" they are, tabi, toe-up on #1 bamboo DPN, 100% cotton. They are great for rainy, coldish spring days when one has to wear flip-flops to keep faith in the season, but one cannot stand to have cold toes. Please don't ask why one would have felt compelled to knit a reinforced heel on such socks...

Now, on to my UFOs, I promise. There are no more excuses...

May Socks

These should have been April socks. Let's just say ... I had some issues. But, now they are done and I'm very happy with them.

Yarn: Jawoll Color Aktion yarn
Needles: Size 1
Pattern: Plain stockinette done over 64 stitches.

This is the closest I've EVER gotten to matching striping all the way through. Considering I broke my yarn with a hammer --- don't ask! LOL --- and then had to make a join --- and STILL the striping stayed even. Had to be divine intervention because I did my best to screw up these socks at EVERY turn. ROFL

April Greens . . . Just a Few Days into May

Here are my late April socks, made with Austermann Step Sock Yarn with Aloe Vera. Very soft to knit and to wear. Once I got going, these didn't take so long -- size 2 needles. It's a basic step sock pattern I got online from Mary Maxim.
For May I'm trying circular needles for the first time. Wish me luck!

~ April Socks ~

Woohoo ~ I managed to finish a pair this month. These were finished off last night and Da Boy loves them. ;) Pattern ~ Not Pedestrian Peds (my absolute favs)
Yarn ~ Opal
Colorway ~ Antonia die Sinnliche
Needles ~ Knit Picks #2 circs

Need to shop the stash for May ~ have a great weekend.

I confess...

...that I drew my yarn for May and gauged it yesterday, before the month officially started. It is 100% cotton "Stork" from Dalegarn in Norway. I actually think I got it from one of the two amazing yarn stores in Saratoga Springs, NY. There is no color name, just a number: 30.

So I started a toe-up tabi. The pattern will be borrowed from my Mama's trusted stitch book.
