Baby socks

Here is my meager offering for April. Baby socks in wool/nylon Alice's Garden colorway from White Willow on Etsy. I used 2.25mm circs, and Fleegle's Sock Wizard for the basic pattern toe up pattern, substituting Fleegle's gusseted no-holes heel as described on her blog. The yarn is left over from when I made my own Monkey socks.

Here are my April socks, No Purl Monkey's in TOFUtsies.
Now, off to the May socks (which I started in April, Vogue Garter Heel Socks).

Easy April Socks- Done!

I used an easy pattern on these, and I managed to match up the stripes pretty well. They will be a late birthday gift to my sister-in-law. That is, if they don't turn into baby booties when I wash them. They are 100% cotton. I will try to wash with care.

Brigid - April Socks finished

Finished these Brigid socks yesterday. Love the cable pattern. They are quick to knit as they use dk yarn, and the pattern is easy.

Lovely and warm socks.
The colour is actually the rose colour left.

Opal factory sample socks

Here is my April pair. The yarn is Opal factory sample color, shade 2061. I ordered it from Marianne's Opalwolle last summer. It's the only place where I've seen Opal sample lines. I like the color combination.

I have another stash pair on the needles, but I'm not sure if I'm going to make it in April. For May I'm planning to use some stash merino. Although I like knitting solids and using lovely patterns, I always fall back to simple stockinette stitch and let the yarn do the work. I can knit those socks while I watch tv, read e-books or when my toddlers decide at 3.30 AM that it's morning and they don't want to sleep any longer.

Not What I Planned

Hi folks,
I had planned on finishing a totally different pair of socks this month--specifically Pomatomus socks in a variegated purple. However, they're not going very well. So I set them aside for a bit and dug out an old skein of Opal, and made these this week. I am especially proud of how perfectly matched they are.

Size: Newborn

Yarn: Opal. Not sure, but I think it's one of the Elements colorways (couldn't find the label)

Needles: Size 2

Child's First Socks

The shell pattern is cute and beautiful. Too bad there are far too many sock patterns I have in mind to knit, otherwise, this Nancy Bush pattern would very likely be one I would do again! For the yarn, I am kind of having reservation ... mainly due to its being very splitty and not havign much memory.
