At worst do a pair of socks on BIG needles (big to sock knitters means worsted size, lol) and this might help a bit. Sometimes really small needles aggravate more than larger.razorknitgirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18296013635269207656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8747459387553100104.post-88232413428127403472008-02-02T19:14:00.000+02:002008-02-02T19:14:00.000+02:00I'll echo what others said - take an anti-inflamma...I'll echo what others said - take an anti-inflammatory, ice your hands, and most of all - don't knit when it hurts! I know it's hard, but pushing at the pain will only make it worse.laurenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10840247190951502997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8747459387553100104.post-77192827691193157092008-02-02T08:47:00.000+02:002008-02-02T08:47:00.000+02:00Sounds like the same problem I'm having. I have had some success with a combination of changes - swapping between projects with different sized needles - thicker needles seem to be OK, changing the finger I wrap the yarn around to control it - (used to use my little finger, swapped to ring finger because my little finger was painful (with practice you can get used to using different fingers every hour or so), doing lots of hand exercises, gently pulling the finger from just below the knuckle to stretch out the joint, using an arnica cream after each knitting session, and taking a glucosamine supplement. I also try to keep the painful finger as relaxed as possible while I am knitting, and regularly stretch it out straight as I find if I am not paying attention, I tend to hold it fairly tightly clenched. The problem hasn't completely gone away, but it's probably 80% better. Of course, stopping knitting might help - but I haven't tried that one! Good luck.Katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17473729422636371907noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8747459387553100104.post-53662730553065381762008-02-02T05:15:00.000+02:002008-02-02T05:15:00.000+02:00Motrin and icing it down once in awhile?
